Dr. Howard Cohen is a native Atlantan. He attended Emory University graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. As a Medical College of Georgia graduate, Dr. Cohen distinguished himself by being elected to Alpha Omega Alpha honorary society for meritorious academic achievement. He returned to Atlanta to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine with Emory University. Thereafter, Dr. Cohen pursued his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Yale University School of Medicine. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Dr. Cohen has served in many leadership positions including department chairman, chief of staff, and head of infection control at various Atlanta hospitals. He also holds an appointment as a clinical associate professor at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen has been honored by his colleagues as one of Atlanta 's “Top Physicians”.

He and his wife have three sons, Benjamin, Daniel, and Joshua. During his free time, Dr. Cohen enjoys tennis, hiking, road biking, reading and traveling. Most of all, he takes greatest pleasure in spending time with his family and taking leisurely walks with his wife, Caryl, and golden retriever, Sandy.
